Manager of House Support

Job Summary:

Fisher House Foundation seeks a Manager of House Support that will serve as the liaison to the network of 91+ Fisher Houses and its Managers. This position assists the Vice President & Director of Community Relations as directed and is responsible for various training and program events. This is one of two positions reporting directly to the Director of Community Relations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as project lead for the annual training to conduct research, make site visits, select host city, select vendors, coordinate training content, manage assisting staff, recruit for and lead the Advisory Council, execute the event, and handle post-event recognition.
  • Assist in selecting, contracting, and coordinating vendors for various events.
  • Assist with the coordination of various conferences by setting up registration, booking airfare, and providing on-site conference support.
  • Provide support for ceremonies and grant competitions.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for planning and execution of annual trainings and events.
  • Establish and maintain regular communication and relationships with Fisher House Managers, and DoD/VA Program Managers, vendors, and various POC???s.
  • Educate new managers regarding the relationship between the individual Fisher House and the Foundation, as well as Foundation support.
  • Coordinate with external supporters providing donations, create a distribution plan, and communicate donor acknowledgement details.
  • Track gift-in-kind donations from the Foundation to Fisher Houses.
  • Maintain list of events at Fisher Houses and communicate them to Foundation???s leadership.
  • Regularly check with Fisher House Managers on house maintenance issues and communicate them to Foundation???s leadership.
  • Work with the Foundation???s Development team on grant reports, as well as corporate donations and employee engagement/volunteer opportunities at Fisher Houses.
  • Work with the Foundation???s Accounting team to coordinate monthly and quarterly donation distribution check mailings for Fisher Houses, as well as complete required proffer letters and forms for Program Managers.
  • Work with the Foundation???s Hero Programs team to connect Fisher House Managers to hotels and flights for eligible guests.
  • Assist managers in acquiring promotional items through the Foundation, including confirming quantities, invoicing, packing, and shipping.
  • Maintain monthly and quarterly occupancy statistics for Fisher Houses.
  • Gather monthly and quarterly statistics in support of Foundation grant reports.

General Foundation Support:

  • In addition to essential and secondary duties, all staff are expected to:
    • Assist and represent the Foundation in various activities and fundraising events.
    • Be readily available to engage and assist donors and partners by answering the phones, processing donations, welcoming guests, answering general questions, and assisting with other tasks not outlined in the job description if needed or as requested.

Education, Experience & Job Requirements:

Fisher House Foundation seeks a strategic, highly organized, and detail-focused team player with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Bachelor???s Degree in related field ??? required
  • Previous demonstrated experience in program management and event planning; coordination and execution
  • Fully proficient in the following programs:
  • Windows 10
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Adobe Acrobat Pro (Ability to create, edit or modify PDF reports and forms)
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbal and in writing
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent professional office etiquette
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Military or VA knowledge with non-profit experience ??? preferred

Travel:
Occasional Travel ??? (up to 15%)

Status:
Exempt, Full-Time

Schedule:
Monday - Friday (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

Location:
Based in Rockville, MD office (Temporarily remote due to COVID-19 safety measures)

Salary:
Salary commensurate with experience
